Aromatherapy is soothing massage enhanced with the therapeutic effects of essential oils to improve physical and emotional well-being.
Essential oils are the concentrated essences of flowers, leaves, roots, seeds, fruits and woods. They have been used in perfumery, food flavouring and medicine for centuries. Each essential oil possesses distinct therapeutic properties that help to promote health and prevent disease. Supporting and harmonising both body and mind, they have been found to increase vitality, alleviate tension, fight infection and have a calming or uplifting effect psychologically. Essential oils are applied in a variety of ways including massage, ointments, lotions, baths and inhalations.
In aromatherapy massage, the essential oils are selected for their beneficial effects on conditions including hormonal imbalance, lowered immunity, muscular aches or pains, circulatory, digestive and respiratory problems.
Tapping into our very powerful emotional response to smell, aromatherapy also has an instant impact on our frame of mind, promoting relaxation and restoring harmony in a unique therapeutic experience, a deeply pleasurable yet highly effective way of healing.
