Reiki
Sofia is a Reiki practitioner who completed her training in Nepal, India, and Greece. Reiki changed
the way she views the world; it has helped her work through her own wounds and has been her
greatest ally during difficult times. She rarely skips her daily practice, believing that helping herself
first gives her the capacity to truly support others.
Sofia believes that self-healing abilities exist in every human being, lying dormant within us all. Reiki
is one of the treatments that supports and awakens the body’s innate healing capacity, helping the
mind and body to relax.
Reiki can help to ease stress and anxiety and can support the body as a gentle complementary
practice alongside conventional care during times of illness, discomfort, or pain. Sessions can also
support deeper rest, emotional balance, and a greater sense of connection between body and mind.
Many people find that regular sessions leave them feeling calmer, lighter, and more grounded in
daily life. It can be offered in-person and by distance.
Sound Healing
Sofia’s introduction to sound healing began with a group sound bath in the UK, an experience she
found deeply relaxing and quietly transformative. She went on to train in Tibetan singing bowl
therapy in Kathmandu, Nepal, with Master Shree Krishna Shahi, a third-generation sound healer,
before continuing her practice with teachers in India and, more recently, studying sound instrument
tuning in Germany for a few weeks.
Using Himalayan singing bowls, small bells, a drum, a metallophone and other instrument, Sofia
guides clients through sound journeys — both in small group settings and one-to-one sessions —
where the resonant tones and vibrations are placed on and around the body to encourage deep
relaxation and a meditative state.
Sound healing can help calm the nervous system, ease tension, and support a sense of inner stillness
that’s often hard to reach in daily life. Many people find that a session leaves them feeling deeply
rested and mentally clearer. It is a gentle, non-invasive way to unwind body and mind together.

What is Sound Healing?
Sound healing is a practice that uses resonant tones and vibrations — often from instruments like
Himalayan or Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, chimes, drums, tuning forks and more — to guide the
body and mind into a state of deep relaxation. The sound and vibration are believed to help shift the
nervous system out of “fight or flight” mode and into a calmer, more restorative state, similar to
what happens during deep meditation or the edge of sleep.
During a session, instruments are typically played around or gently placed on the body, allowing
their vibrations to be both heard and physically felt. Many people describe the experience as
immersive — the sound seems to "wash over" you rather than being something you actively listen
to.
Benefits of Sound Healing
- Deep relaxation — helps calm the nervous system and ease the body out of stress or
tension - Reduced anxiety and mental clutter — the repetitive, resonant tones can quiet racing
thoughts and support a meditative state - Better sleep — many people report improved sleep quality after regular sessions
- Emotional release — some find sound journeys bring up and help process stored emotion,
offering a sense of lightness afterward - Physical relaxation — vibration can ease muscular tension and support overall bodily
relaxation - A greater sense of groundedness — sessions often leave people feeling calmer, clearer, and
more connected to themselves
Sound healing is generally considered a gentle, non-invasive complementary practice — it’s not a
replacement for medical care, but many people use it alongside conventional treatment to support
relaxation and general wellbeing.
